Stockholm outfit Les Big Byrd have dropped their new track, ‘Diamonds, Rhinestones and Hard Rain’, which also happens to be the title track of their upcoming album. They’ve crafted a gloriously memorable tune that feels distant and nostalgic, underpinned by motorik drums and propelled by effortless vocal melodies. On the genesis of the track, frontman Jocke Ahlund jokes: “I was in my monthly meeting with my private clairvoyant, and she revealed to me that 2024 will be the year that guitar-based space-boogie music breaks through in a big way.” Be sure to check out the album Diamonds, Rhinestones and Hard Rain when it drops on March 1st, via Chimp Limbs. While the title track is a more concise exploration of their sound, fans of the slow-burn psychedelic side of Les Big Byrd’s sound will be satisfied by its ten-minute opener, ‘Mareld’, and the explorative instrumental, ‘Lycka Till På Färden’. -Dan Peeke
